A two page printable PDF file FREE for you! Below you will find my tips and tricks to packing for college along with my ultimate college packing list.
Consider the Weather.
Depending on where you go to school you’ll need to think about the weather. Forgetting snow boots and a winter coat can be a BIG mistake. Rainy days can be tough too, Surviving Rainy Days in College.
Check with your College/University.
Will you be living in a dorm or a university owned apartment? Will it be furnished? Is there a kitchen? All of these questions are ones you need to consider before making big purchases. Adding a kitchen into the mix will mean you’ll need pots and pans, if not you might only need a mini-fridge and a toaster.
Use this List.
This will be your go-to packing list. Anything and everything you could ever think of is on this college packing list. You won’t forget anything! Plus, there’s extra room for you to add your own items!
I honestly overpack for everything. Do you really need 16 pairs of jeans and 43 t-shirts in your tiny dorm room closet? Don’t overpack. Really think about it and pack accordingly. I had gone through an extreme couponing phase the summer before I started college… no one needs 4 tubes of toothpaste!
Plan with Roomies.
Plan with your roommates to decide who’s bringing what. Dorm rooms can become tiny real quick once you add furniture. You don’t want to end up with two of everything! Imagine two futons and two TVs!
